The icon is hand-painted using traditional Byzantine agiograpic techniques on am antique wood bread or wash bowl ("skafi"). The halo is also made using .925 sterling silver which gives a nice embossed look and feel. Each icon is unique due to the fact that the wooden bowls are all handcurved and the icons handpainted.
